This week’s “Top 5” includes two projects with completed installation for NEC Energy Solutions and Vycon, and three new partnerships in the storage sector.

Vycon completed the installation of 6 MW of flywheel in an underground substation in Los Angeles for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro). The main application will be regenerative braking.

NEC Energy Solutions (formerly A123 Energy Solutions) commissioned a 2.5 MW 5 MWh li-ion battery in Darlington, UK, and other smaller systems.

Hydro Québec, largest electricity producer in Canada, and Sony established a Business Venture called Esstalion Technologies, Inc to develop large scale storage.

“RedFlow signs master supply agreement with Schneider Electric”.

REDT, who won a grant from the UK government to build a 1.26 MWh vanadium redox flow battery on an island in Scotland, chose Jabil Circuit to do the manufacturing.
