Energy Storage & Hydrogen News - June 28th, 2024

This week's TOP 5+1 features news on the development of several projects in Europe: Lion Storage and Giga Storage will develop two 300MW+ projects in Netherlands, while Energisto plans on constructing a 400MWh project in Germany; in the UK, NHOA Energy and Statkraft will supply a 113MWh BESS project, and Elements Green will develop a 360MWh/720MWh project. On another note, France was granted 172 million euros from the European Commission within the IPCEIs (Important Projects of Common European Interest) framework.

 

Top 5 Energy Storage news : 

  1.  Lion Storage was granted a construction permit for a 347MW/1457MWh BESS in Netherlands. Giga storage plans on starting construction for a similarly sized project this year.
  2. NHOA Energy and Statkraft signed an agreement to supply a 113MWh project in Scotland.
  3. Developer Elements Green secured planning consent for a 360MW/720MWh BESS project in the UK.
  4. Developer Energisto is expecting to receive contruction permit for 400MWh of projects this year in Germany.
  5. CATL presented its new Tener BESS at Intersolar Europe, claiming no degradation in the first five years of operation.
