Clean Horizon has acted as Technical Advisor to Kallista Energy for the development of the Saleux Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in the Somme, France. With a capacity of 120 MW / 240 MWh, this will be one of the largest battery storage projects in the country.

The project marks an important milestone for Kallista Energy as its first large-scale storage site. ENGIE will optimise the batteries to provide services to the French electricity grid, while Envision Energy will be responsible for turnkey construction, maintenance, and battery recycling. The financing was co-arranged by Landesbank Saar and BNP Paribas, with support from a wide range of expert partners.

Clean Horizon provided technical advisory services throughout the project’s structuring phase, ensuring robustness in design and alignment with the requirements of the French power system. Our team supported Kallista Energy and its partners in preparing a project that will strengthen grid stability and accelerate renewable energy integration.

This collaboration illustrates how battery storage is becoming a central tool for the energy transition, and demonstrates Clean Horizon’s expertise in guiding ambitious projects from concept to reality.
