Nord Pool and Clean Horizon have announced a partnership to distribute a new set of indices designed to bring transparency and standardisation to the European battery storage market.
The two organisations are launching a Europe-wide distribution initiative for the Clean Horizon Storage Index, a set of neutral benchmarks designed to track battery storage revenues across 15 European countries.
Battery energy storage systems generate revenues across several markets, including day-ahead and intraday electricity markets as well as ancillary services. These revenues vary significantly depending on local market conditions, renewable penetration and grid requirements.
